Your new place has an existing home security system
Many times after you buy a new house, you’ll see that the old owners used a security system. All the devices function well, are installed in the best spaces, and are ready to go. In this instance, all you may have to do is to call and start a new service contract. A Vivint expert will still show up to make sure there are no usability issues, and they could offer options on upgrades. It's a fast appointment, and you can get your 24/7 monitoring set up without worrying about any new components -- unless you add on.
The previous owners can give an existing Vivint contract to your family for a small transfer fee to make the process easier. If the outgoing residents are downsizing to a condo or retirement community, turning over the security contract might be a condition of the sale.
You want to move and take your existing components with you
You might want to bring your favorite home security components with you to a new home when you move. It should be pretty simple to do, as many components are portable. You can uninstall each component yourself or call a professional expert to take down everything. Then our installers will put in the same components -- and any new items you want -- in your new place. Your home security contract will stay the same.
